Audience Feedback

for our audience feedback we got a group of media students to watch our film as they could critically analyse it, we wanted to film this but due to the time we could not get a camera at short notice and therefore noted down what people had to say, the feedback was mostly positive and the question asked the most was why she was treating the man like this, we wanted this as we wanted the film to make people think and to imagine why its happening and what happend at the end as this would encourage people to talk about it, we wanted to make a film that wouldnt be classed as a hyperermic needle style film or spoon feed the audience the answer, and from the questions that were asked we seemed to have achieved that, from the audience feedback it appears that a hedonist viewer is most likely to view this as it is a film that makes you think.

Evaluation

Final Thoughts

For my final piece i like how i started out with the idea of making the movie dark, however from feed back i decieded to make it more dark comedy style due to the violence however with the way i have filmed it and the music i have added it has become dark again and therefore more in keeping with my original idea, although this has worked out well i am disapointed i had to change my story due to our lack of actors and time constraints but i feel overall the film has worked out well and i feel the music we have used is the best element as it encapsulates the thriller element to the film and therefore gives it a creepy effect.

Poster

here is a link to our poster on Alex's blog

http://alexandrajermya2media.blogspot.com/
we have made the poster simple like this to engage the audience so they want to find our more also with less to read people are more likely to view it therefore adding a psycological edge to our poster as well. the poster would be blown up and put on billboards but is also suitable to be put in magazines in an a4 style as it is multi functional and will grab your attention either way.

Filming

due to time constraints and lack of organisation we were unable to get together all the neccesary actors to make the film according to the original script, therefore we have tweaked it and instead of having three men we have one and we have cut down on a flashback scene and added a longer ending. we are now in the final stages of editing and will be done by the end of the week.

Creating My Magazine

here are some print screens of me making my magazine using adobe illustrator, it shows the different techniques i used and different designs i went through in the process. our magazine spread will be in empire magazine as a special feature hence the use of manly colours as empire is reffered to as more of a mans magazine stereotypically.

Magazine Spread

here is our magazine:

our magazine will feature in empire magazine as a special feature for short films as we feel this will gain it the most publicity as it is a well known magazine for avid movie fans therefore its ideal for our film as it will gain more attention for it.

Weekly update

after further research into films of similar genre's to our film and further discussions with our teacher we have decieded to change the genre and tone of our film, due to the graphic nature and hard shots and filming in our film we have decided to make it a black comedy as if we were to film the violent shots in a serious way on our small budget we wouldnt be able to make it look serious and would look more slapstick, therefore we have made it a black comedy as the scenes without violence can be kept serious but the violent scenes should make people laugh, but the i shouldnt be laughing at that kind of laugh. we have also started our magazine spread and poster designs and are due to start filming this weekend.

Shot Script

here is a script for the shots we will use so that whenever we are in one location we can film all the same camera angles in one sitting instead of re adjusting for every scene therefore saving us time and effort, here is the list of locations:

  • 1, dark room with a round table

  • 2, kitchen, with a breakfast bar

  • 3, bedroom, with a bed

  • 4, living room with a tv

  • 5, garden

here is the list of what shots we are going to use in each location:

1)

  • wide angle, 3 shots of all 3 men

  • close ups, 3 shots of each individual man

  • over the shoulder shots, 2 shots dialogue between men which is unheard but seen

  • long distance shot which pans in, 1 shot panning towards the men around the table.

2)

  • wide angle shot, 2 shots one showing the kitchen in front of you, one shot man on the floor

  • canted angle, 1 shot woman raising hand above head

  • close up, 1 shot when hit to the face

  • facing up shot with a pan upwards, 1 shot blood flying

3)

  • pan around the room, 2 shots pan when room is empty and then when people enter

  • close up, 2 shots one when couple look at each other then another when she hits in the face, all one shot potentially

  • wide angle, 1 shot showing man being beaten

  • pan shot, 1 shot, shot panning out of door then door closing

4)

  • canted angle, 2 shots showing couple together then showing man being thrown towards TV
  • close up, 1 shot man being punched
